Courtney Morse · Executive Director
Courtney started as our Membership Field Organizer for 2011 and joined us from the Oregon Student Association. She was born and raised in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin but spent seven years in Oregon organizing several electoral campaigns, and working with leading advocacy groups. She is excited to bring her passion and non-profit experience to this position within United Council. Her experience from the Oregon Student Association, dozens of non-profits including NARAL, Basic Rights Oregon, and the ACLU, three professional campaigns, and several years as a student organizer at Portland State University in Oregon. Courtney has a vision for the organization that will include expanding the scope of United Council’s impact on the higher education system, social justice, the lives of students and citizens of Wisconsin. She is available to discuss plans and ideas and welcomes any questions or feedback.

Breianna Hasenzahl-Reeder · Finance and Development Director
Breianna is United Council’s finance and development director. She graduated from UW-Madison in May 2008 with a psychology degree. While in college, Breianna was involved in PREA (Promoting Racial and Ethnic Awareness) and SSFC (Student Services Finance Committee). In her role at UC, Breianna coordinates all event logistics, the alumni network, and organizational fundraising all while making sure that the bills are being paid.

Matt Guidry · Communications Director
Matt has organized across central Wisconsin and beyond. He is now United Council’s friendly neighborhood communications director. Matt is a graduate of UW-Stevens Point, where he was involved in Student Government Association and many organizations.

Ben Klingenberg · Inclusivity Director
Ben is United Council’s Inclusivity Director. He graduated from UW-Eau Claire in 2010, where he earned a B.S. in Political Science and Legal Studies. As a student, Ben was very involved with Student Senate, Peer Diversity Educators and campus climate issues. He also served on the United Council Board of Directors, and was the UC Vice President from 2009-10. A little bit on the nerdy side, Ben knows entirely too much about DC Superheroes, musical theater, and Harry Potter.

Ashley Wilcox · Field Director
Ashley graduated from Arizona State University West in May of 2010, majoring in Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration in Crisis Management.  Ashley’s passion for student advocacy started when she became the Government Affairs Intern for the Arizona Students’ Association (ASA). There, she successfully lobbied on two bills that were written by college students and then later became laws. After graduation, Ashley became a Campus Organizer for ASA where she executed “Downtown Votes”, a voter campaign that garnered local, state, and national media attention, and two successful internship programs. As the Field Director for UC, Ashley executes the Regional Field Program and state wide campaigns including UW Votes.

Katie Baeten · Office Director
Katie graduated from UW Madison in 2010 with a BSE in Art Education. She is happy to be a part of United Council and excited to have the opportunity to work for students toward the improvement of their education.
